Church Accompanist Position

Job Description

The position of Church Accompanist is an integral part of the Music Ministry and church worship services. The candidate selected for this part-time position must be a Christian who truly loves the Lord and His church and feels called to Christian service. Your contribution and dedication to the role is essential for a successful music worship experience.

The Church Accompanist reports to the Associate Minister of Music and Children; but will have exposure working with the Church Choir, Praise and Worship, Special Functions, and Audio / Visual groups.

Qualifications

The qualifications and skills of the ideal candidate include but are not limited to the following:

Capable to demonstrate proficiency in playing piano/keyboard for contemporary and traditional styles of church music. Organ proficiency a plus.

Responsibilities and General duties

• The accompanist will play for worship services on Sunday Morning and any special services during
  the year.

• Shall be responsible for instrumental service music (ie prelude, postlude, offertory and communion) in coordination with the Music Minister.

• Rehearsal Accompanist for Adult Choir and Praise Team.

• Accompanist for soloist, duets, or ensembles singing in Worship Services.

• Perform for funerals upon request on a per diem basis

Hours, Salary, and Benefits

The Church Accompanist will be required for all weekly church services and occasional special services/rehearsals. Regular schedule as follows:

Sunday Services 8:30 am – 12:30 pm
Monday Choir Rehearsal 6:00pm – 8:00pm

The starting compensation range is $20-$26 per hour, commensurate with experience.
